Volunteer Telephone Support Worker: Anxiety Services
ACEDA is a member based not for profit organisation which values the lived experience of people affected by panic and anxiety, eating disorders and/or obsessive compulsive disorders. Our Anxiety Services Division is currently seeking a dedicated volunteer to fulfill the role of Telephone Support Worker.
The ideal applicant will possess the following qualities: • Lived experience of an anxiety disorder, or experience in assisting someone with an anxiety disorder • A high level of verbal and written communication skills • Confident and friendly telephone manner • The ability to listen effectively and empathise with others • Mature attitude and high level of self awareness • Basic computer literacy • Ability to work within a team environment
Experience in counselling or related discipline desirable.
The successful applicant will be required to: • Undergo a National Police Check • Commit to at least one year of service with ACEDA in the role of Telephone Support Worker (Anxiety Services), with a 3 month probationary period. • Undertake on-the-job training. • Be available to work from 9am – 1pm every Tuesday or 12pm – 4pm every Thursday.
